Leo Convention Information

We are having a Leo Convention again this year! It is our hope that several of the state Leos can attend. Click Here to download the registration form.

Lions at the convention can help. We need transportation to and from the church and to and from the project.

We will be having an overnight at the First Christian Church, on the corner of Pearl and 4th Street in Joplin. The cost is $5.00 a night. If you stay, you must have at least one adult supervisor to stay with you and/or your group. It will be necessary for you to bring your own bedding. You may want to bring your own cot. We will be sleeping on the gym floor. There are bathing and bathroom facilities available there. However, they are limited in number so you might want to make a deal with a Lion who is staying at the hotel and see if you can cleanup in their room.

There is a gym there when you can play basketball or any games that do not include kicking the ball up in the air. The reason is the ceiling tiles break when hit by a ball.

You may mail or email your reservations to me along with your $5.00 registration fee and your request for staying at the church. I need to have this information by the 24th of April. Registration checks should be made to Missouri Lions and church lodging checks to Lion Linda Martin.

• 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 Free Time-Swimming Leos must be with parents to attend Lions Social
• 10:30 p.m. Meet at OFY Booth for ride to church

Saturday, May 2, 2009
• Breakfast on your own
• 9:00a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Meet and greet at OFY Booth
• 10:00a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Share your club activities with the other Leos
• 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Meet the dignitaries of Lions International
• 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Games (any ideas please share)
• 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch on your own
• 1:00 p.m. Meet at OFY Booth
• 1:10 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Leo Project (Bring your old clothes, good gloves, and old shoes). This is an outdoor project.
• 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. First Christian Church. Play in the gym and get ready for banquet.
• 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Watch the Grand March and picture taking
• 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dinner on your own.
• 7:30 p.m. Enter Banquet area as a group
• 30 minutes after banquet meet at OFY Booth to return to First Christian Church

Sunday Morning
• Breakfast on your own.
• 8:30 Attend Lions Final Session
